More than just a smiley face

I’m Siobhan - a freelance writer from South London, based in Bristol.

My background is in journalism and marketing. A melting pot of magnetic headlines, persuasive copy and compelling storytelling.

Becoming a copywriter was a natural progression from here.

Fast forward six years of freelancing - I have held the titles of Lead Copywriter, The Voice of Your Juno, and written the content for an award-winning app.  I absolutely love what I do.

When I’m not writing, I’m probably DJing, trying out a new wellness craze, experimenting with recipes, curling up with a book, watching cult classics, swooning over flowers, hanging out with friends, or dancing around my room.

WRITTEN FOR

I love an astounding number of things beginning with the letter ‘P’. Pizza, photography, platforms, podcasts, poems, print and pink. You get the picture.

I’m obsessed with Frida Kahlo, mid-century modern interiors and 90s nostalgia.

I’m a self-development nerd. Podcasts I listen to on repeat? On Purpose by Jay Shetty and Saturn Returns by Caggie Dunlop.

My mum’s side of the family is Jamaican, and you bet I can make a serious Caribbean curry.

Creative writing and poetry soothes my soul. Rupi Kaur is my favourite poet. Demon Copperfield by Barbara Kingsolver was a novel I couldn’t put down.

I’m a member of a female DJ collective called Huns n’ Roses. We have played at Glastonbury and alongside the Sugababes.

I’m a proud allotment owner in Bristol. Growing and arranging flowers brings me infinite joy.

Locquious is my favourite word. (Ironic for an introvert at heart.)

How do I choose my projects?

I write about what interests me.

Subjects that warm my heart, get me fired up, or fuel my curiosity.

This energy becomes infectious on paper.

Whether that’s over familiar ground: destigmatising women’s health or helping them improve their financial wellbeing. Or deep-diving into a topic I’m unfamiliar with but feel compelled to learn more.

My insatiable curiosity for life means I’m in the right job.
